The Scanner. It sorts. You decide.

The Scanner checks a name against the structured register and returns what exists, what is disputed and what is missing — every item linked to the record behind it. It shortens the search. It never reaches a conclusion, and it isn’t built to.

§01What it does

The same six checks, on every name, without the hours.

Anyone can browse the register by hand. The Scanner exists because analysts run the same checks on every name they touch — and doing that manually across many states and countries is where the time goes.

01

Name matching

Matches a name to the entities that genuinely fit — and shows the near-misses it left out (spelling variants, common names, dissolved predecessors) so you can check the exclusion instead of trusting it.

02

Connection trails

Follows officers, shareholders, addresses and counterparties across the register and shows the links that keep recurring. Every step links to the filing behind it.

03

Graded indicators

Returns the indicators attached to a subject with their evidence grade and date. An indicator points to a document. It is never a verdict on a person.

04

Watchlists

Designed to let members follow a set of entities and see changes as they arrive: new filings, case movement, designation changes, corrections to records they rely on.

05

Change alerts

Built to react to movement in the underlying record — not to chatter or mentions. Someone appearing in critical press is a different event from a register updating, and they are kept apart.

06

Exports with citations

Results export with every citation attached, so a file can go straight into a diligence pack and still be checked by whoever reads it next.

§02How a check runs

Five stages, always in this order.

Nothing is assumed at a later stage that wasn’t established at an earlier one.

  1. Stage 01

    Match

The query is matched against entities in the register. Anything that doesn’t match cleanly comes back as ambiguous — never merged.

  2. Stage 02

    Retrieve

Published records, indicators and connected entities are pulled in with their source references and retrieval dates.

  3. Stage 03

    Grade

Each item keeps its own evidence grade — adjudicated, proceeding, documented allegation, documented indicator — instead of one blended score.

  4. Stage 04

    Report gaps

The check says what it could not find and which registers are closed, so a blank is never read as a clean bill of health.

  5. Stage 05

    Export

Output is timestamped with citations intact, so anyone can reproduce the result later.

§03What it doesn’t do

Read this before you apply.

A tool that is oversold gets misused — and in due-diligence work, the cost lands on a real person, not on us.

It doesn’t make the decision. The Scanner gives no onboard, decline, exit or report recommendation. It has no view on whether a counterparty is acceptable — that duty is legally yours, and we won’t pretend to take it over.

It doesn’t rank people by suspicion. Indicators are ordered by how well evidenced and how recent they are, so you know what to review first. Being near the top of a list means a file deserves an hour of human attention — not that anyone did anything.

It can’t see into closed registers. Where a jurisdiction publishes no ownership data, no court docket or no accounts, The Scanner reports the gap. It won’t fill it with guesswork, and it won’t call a subject clean because a register stayed silent.

It doesn’t replace due diligence. It is the part of due diligence that can be automated honestly. Reading the filing, calling the registry and asking the awkward question are still somebody’s job.

§04Access

Who can use it

Reading the register is free and always will be. The Scanner is the research layer on top, available to approved Research Members.

Who we refuse

Scanner access is refused to anyone in the register, anyone acting for them, and reputation-management contractors. Accounts used to monitor a subject on that subject’s behalf are closed. Access is also refused where the real purpose is watching or profiling private individuals rather than checking companies and networks.

Check a name against the record in minutes, not days.

Every result links back to the document behind it. Membership keeps The Scanner running — and keeps the register free of money from the people it covers.
